The Making of Fused Glass

We make unique one of a kind pieces with no two pieces the same. Every color in a finished piece was a individual pieces of glass before the first firing. In additions to using two kilns, we use a propane torch to add an odd twist to thin pieces of glass. Fused glass has multiple pieces of glass, fired in a kiln to 1450º. This first step takes 12 hours to heat up and melt the glass into one solid piece, then cool down. Then the new pieces of glass can be made into different forms by firing the glass again to 1250º for 10 hours.
We are now working on a new process called pot melt. This involves heating the glass to 1700º, at this point the glass becomes liquefied and runs from a hole in the bottom of the pot and collects on the kiln shelf. After this process you can use the glass to make bowls or anything our imagination leads us to.
We make bowls, candle holders, plates, platters, vases, trivets, Christmas ornaments, night lights, candy dishes, cheese trays, candle bridges, yard art, spoon rest, cake plates, sun catchers, wind chimes, coasters, re-purposed old bottles and wine bottles, re-purposed window frames with fused glass inserts used as a coat rack, key holders, chip and dip plates, bread plates, soap dishes, serving dishes, business card holders, salt and pepper shakers, butter dishes, lanterns, wine bottle racks.
Please visit our photo gallery to see more samples of our work, and remember if you want a piece made in a different color will be happy to see if we can make it. Email us with your name and city and we will email you when we are going to be at a show in your area.
